We hope the next release will be available soon and will be as stable as the current one

Simply amazing, simple to set up and powerful once setup. Best of the best.
There are many good modules, but some of the ones I most need never seem to make it to completion. The main problem that I have is that the support is terrible. I almost always have to get an answer from another user who had to wade through a problem on their own or from a different forum. If your problem is not easily solved, it seems that they like to immediately blame the host, even when there are multiple recent posts from people having the exact same problem. They do not actually read the posts well, either, it would seem. If you tell them you cannot access a certain area to do their proposed fix, for example, they tend to gloss over that and keep hammering in their original proposed fix until you finally make it clear to them that it does not work. This may take several days (or even a week or more), causing a forum to be down for quite some time before it can be fixed. Most of the module makers are much better with support for their modules, and many can even be convinced to help with basic SMF support. However, others very specifically do not offer general SMF support because they get flooded with help requests due to the wait time and inefficiency for help on the SMF website.
Don't know what Nox is talking about... I've never had to wait more than a few hours to have any problem resolved, and I've even had some solved within 15 minutes. This guy must have had a bad experience with a single mod, and then blamed everyone else for it.
Oh, and I've been using SMF for 3 years, and version 2.0 is absolutely amazing. Nothing like it out there
I have used SMF for coming on 4 years, and the only place I ever get help quickly is other sites. That is why I am finally switching. After my forum was down for a week waiting on a reply that was not just directing me to other posts that did not address my issue and being told it was a host issue not an SMF issue (though it ended being an SMF issue), I got fed up. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience, either. I stuck with it because I liked the software, but I simply cannot wait forever whenever there is a problem.
The one thing that has to be remembered is that the support staff for SMF are all volunteers, and because of the complexity of problems - usually mod related - it does sometimes take a little time to get to the bottom of problems.
You say you're going to switch - what to, if I may ask?
If waiting were the only issue, I would understand. I am more upset about constantly being told it is not their issue and it MUST be our host without even any real attempt to help. Sometimes it is the host, yes, but often it ends up being something on the SMF end. We have not fully decided on what we are switching to, but something has to be decided very soon, because our forum has been down for almost a month.
Getting reports like this is never good, can you please link me to the topic you posted, we do try and get to topics within 48 hours but most times quicker, however like any software or organisation things do slip and topics do get missed.
I do speak for SMF and have to appologise for this.
