Suggestions for two newbies

First off, I appreciate your help. I'm sure you get a lot of people like me

What is the best forum software given my starting point...

Myself and a close friend want to start a business around a niche forum for a specific field of psychology (although it will be done in laymen's terms). I work in the VC/PE tech industry and I am currently working on a separate mobile app project as well. My friend is a PhD in that field. I am not a computer engineer, but I do have some basic experience coding in C++, Python and VBA and am generally savy.

I'm going to take on the business/tech side of the forum and my friend is going to take on the content side of the forum.

We have only enough time to spend it on forum content, rather than the forum itself. We don't mind paying for the software, we just want something easy that can be grown into a thriving business (good SEO, good for advertising, professional looking and simple to manage).

My question is, what is the best forum software for this situation?

Once again, thank you so much for your comments...

I should also note, one nice feature would be:

All technical terms posted become links to a page that defines those technical terms. So if I was to post something like "Behavioral scripts often emerge from a task analysis." then Behavioral Scripts and Task Analysis could either be clicked to link to a definition, or you could hover over them to get a definition.
