Greetings from Perth (Australia)

Hi.

Not great at introductions, but saw that there was an introductions forum here, so figured I'd do the social thing and introduce myself here.

I found this website about half an hour ago (so, pretty new here!) via a Google search for the related topic (Forum Software). I thought the website looked useful and interesting, so figured I'd register an account for myself and see how things go.

I've been slowly, bit by bit, developing foruming orientated CMS in my spare time at home, when I'm not doing other things, for the past few years, and I'm hosting about five communities at the moment. I figure a place like this might be a good point in which to see what others are doing to get new ideas for my own and the likes.

I'm not sure how much I'll be able to contribute, but I'll do what I can.

Kind Regards,
Maikuolan.

Hi and welcome here Maikuolan!

Do not hesitate to share with us the CMS software you are developing and giving us your advices about how to succeed in managing communities (5 at the same time! Isn't it hard to follow everything?)

Re: Greetings from Perth (Australia)

Thanks for the welcome, lastnico! ^.^

As for sharing my CMS software that I'm developing with you all, I'm definitely onto that! And thanks for the encouragement. XD

Honestly, I don't find it all that hard at all - A lot of it just comes down to combination of reliable, trustworthy management, and open and relatively restrictless community but with a good, solid sense of mutual respect and netiquette amongst the community, listening to what the community wants and doing whatever is possible to deliver it, and when it can't be delivered, being frank and up front about it. At least, that's pretty much what it comes down to for me when it comes to maintaining the communities - When it comes to actually marketing and building those communities, however, I think it's a bit of an uphill struggle for all of us - Myself, definitely no exception. But, would be great to be able to share ideas and suggestions. ^.^
