I had installed Simple Machine Forums at: http://www.outtadebt.com/forum/
My question centers on search engine friendly urls generated by this software. The urls have "?" in their string using session ID. I don't think this is the most search engine friendly format for indexing and ranking. Can this be converted to simple html format?
Any advice would be helpful.
No, indeed, having the session Ids in the GET request is highly not recommended, because if the link is shared on other website, it could potentially allows other people to get a connection to your account! Anyway, this problem is always related to a misconfiguration or wrong usage of your cookies in your browser. Indeed, if cookies are not kept, then, storing the session id in the request URL is the only way to maintain the session of the user.
About other parameters that could trail URL, they can be smartly replaced by the usage of friendly URLs. (see my post here)

Hi FSR Admin,
Thanks so much for your input. How do you make the conversion to friendly urls like this forum you have here. It automatically creates pages in html format, that's what I would like to do with the forum I have now. (SMF)
Allied Debt Consolidation
I think that the Pretty URLs SMF mods should do the job quite perfectly.
FYI, we use here a Drupal Forum, with the Pathauto module.
Thanks so much. I wanted to get this forum off on the right footing.
Thanks for posting this useful information. I am searching this forum for something like this. I am having problem indexing my webpages in google.
Fortunately, most of the time, it's just a matter of time. You have to wait for Google Robot to decide visiting you, and it could take several months, even if post your website to be crawled at http://www.google.com/addurl
Forum Software is the best for search indexing and for ranking too..........
