Which forum has this feature? One page listing all unread posts in several topics/threads? exactly like the update page in facebook. Of course it would tailor made for each user. If I want to achieve that, do I need a Social network soft? does FluxBB do that?
You have indeed several forum software providing a page, usually called "Active Topics", where all topics with new posts are displayed. This is, IMHO the best way to keep your request logical, as putting all posts from different topics on the same page would be quite hard to follow.
If such, you have however alternatives, like Vanilla where active topics are always on top, or for a CMS, Drupal, which has (for Administrator only) a "Published Comments" page where you can filter on the node type (here: forum topic).
Do not hesitate to add additional information to specify a bit more your needs if the things I wrote above are off the subject
FSR Admin - Vote for 2012.
Vanilla seems indeed very interesting. checking it right now. THANKS A LOT. maybe you finally found me what I need. congratulations. Merci beaucoup. vraiment.
No problem, that's the main purpose of FSR (or at least a purpose I would like it to reach
Vanilla is GREAT indeed. BUT i tried the demo on your site here and it was hellish slow (3-5sec) for almost each click to render a page.
Is it your config/hosting or is it Vanilla?
Also, one 'anonymous' commentator on your review points out the very bad coding of Vanilla. ??? Anyone else put his nose into it? does it explain the huge lags?
It's our fault. We experienced some huge (huge at our level, by the way) spamming attempts recently, which totally hangs the server, and which causes several hours of unavailability. This is why we reduced the number of MaxClients of the chrooted Apache which hosts demonstrations, and explains why it is so high to consult them.
I'm planning to reset it back to its original value (or even a bit more), as it's been almost 2 weeks without crashing...
About bad coding of Vanilla, I have to say I never had a look into the code, so I can't tell you anything about this.
Merci Nico pour les explications (explanations)
